Informational Cards


Informational Cards presents users with a wide variety of information.  There are three layouts for Informational Cards.

  1. Horizontal: Multiple Columns and Rows
  2. Vertical: One Column Stack
  3. Masonry-like Columns: Three Columns with Compressed Rows

Depending on they layout, Information Cards has a variety of content options, including

  • Title
  • Subtitle
  • WYSIWYG Content Input
  • Card Image
  • Link in either of two designs:
    • Stand-alone label as a text link or
    • Entire card as button link

Usability

When to Use an Informational Card

  • You want to present very homogenous items (such as a list of similar blog posts, news stories, research initiatives, courses).
  • To provide a summary of content.
  • Intended as a link to obtain more information.

When Not to Use an Informational Card

  • Replacement for a list of content.
  • When hierarchy of information is important.
  • When a standard vertical list will be more effective allowing the user to scan content more quickly.
  • You want more visible content to appear without scrolling.
